7 Lessons Learned in Crossing Half a Million in Sales

Recently, in the Kajabi Facebook group, someone asked. course creators who had made over $500k in sales what their biggest tips were, and I had a few lessons to share. If you're looking to make more online course sales, or scale your online course-based business, make sure to check out these lessons and then head over and apply for the Designed to Scale Mastermind.

A $97 sale is the exact same process as a $50,000 sale.

The first step is always going to be about building trust and credibility. Whether you're selling a low-ticket course or a high-ticket program, people want to know they're investing in something valuable and with someone they can trust. So, start by showcasing your expertise, sharing success stories, and offering free content to establish yourself as an authority in your niche.

This is going to happen by creating genuine connections with your audience. Start engaging with them through social media, webinars, or live events. Understand their pain points and needs, and tailor your offerings accordingly. Whether it's a $97 or $50,000 product, personalized attention and empathy go a long way.

Lastly, don't forget the power of testimonials. Positive reviews from satisfied customers can boost confidence in both your affordable and premium offerings. So, don't hesitate to flaunt those raving reviews! Make sure to build feedback into your course process so you have amazing testimonials to share on a regular basis. Check out this YouTube video for 4 ways to make that happen.

Don’t market to people who don’t have time, money, or energy to invest. Don't try to convince people. Seek out the people who have already decided & support them.

You absolutely must be marketing to a pool of potential customers who are not only interested in your offerings but also have the means to make a purchase. Customers with time, money, and energy are more likely to be committed to their personal growth and development.

These are people who are actively seeking solutions to their challenges and are willing to invest in their own progress. This dedication creates an engaged and enthusiastic community around your courses, fostering a community of growth and driving word-of-mouth referrals.

Learn your customers tipping point asap (The point of frustration they hit before they find a solution.)

There are a lot of things that people like to complain about, but a lot fewer things they actually want to invest their time, money, and energy to fix. Or, at least not until they get to a certain point.

Understanding this tipping point helps you to direct your marketing towards people in that particular stage of their issue. When you know exactly when they are ready to make those changes, you can show them that you've got what it takes to guide them into a new state of being.

So, keep your ears perked up, gather feedback, and keep a keen eye on those signals. When you can meet your customers right at that "Enough is enough!" moment, you'll be ready to help guide them in making their changes, and they'll be forever grateful for your amazing products or services!

When you find something that works double the price and keep doing what you were doing.

Here's the deal: customers want simplicity and effectiveness. When you put all your energy and resources into mastering one problem, you become an expert at it. Your products or services become streamlined, efficient, and highly effective in addressing that specific pain point.

Not only does this boost your reputation as the go-to solution, but it also builds trust and credibility. People start to see you as the problem-solving guru, and word-of-mouth spreads like wildfire.

Moreover, by concentrating on one problem, you can continuously improve and innovate, making your solution even more outstanding over time. It's a win-win for both you and your customers!

Every new product is like a new business. It’s fun for the first 100K it’s exhausting after 500k. Find the one.

Every new product addresses a different problem for your customers. You need to thoroughly understand the pain points and intricacies of this new challenge to develop a solution that truly resonates with your target audience.

Just like a new business, each product demands its own set of systems and processes. From production to delivery, customer support to feedback loops, you're crafting a tailor-made infrastructure for the specific demands of this offering.

And let's not forget about marketing! Each product needs its spotlight to shine. It's like promoting a unique masterpiece, with a dedicated marketing strategy to reach the right audience, showcase its value, and differentiate it from the rest.

Each of these can be fun in the beginning, but making sure that your systems are set up and fine-tuned for the best possible client experience is crucial to making it to the $500k mark and making sure you're not burning out along the way.

Don’t take advice from too many people. Know your vision and put your blinders on.

When it comes to learning, it's important to stick to having one or two teachers to guide you. It helps you steer clear of overwhelm and decision fatigue. Too many sources of information can leave you drowning in a sea of options, making it hard to choose the right path.

By focusing on just a couple of trusted mentors, you gain clarity, consistency, and a structured learning experience. These teachers become your allies, leading you through the learning journey with their expertise, simplifying complex concepts, and empowering you to achieve your goals without the noise and confusion.

Invest your money in building skills, not the advice of others. Only you know what you want to build.

Investing in learning skills from others while also trusting your own instincts is the ultimate winning combination for personal and professional growth.

By seeking knowledge from experienced mentors or educators, you tap into a wealth of expertise, shortcuts, and insights. Learning from others' successes and failures can save you time, money, and effort, propelling you forward on your journey.

However, it's equally vital to listen to your inner voice when it comes to creating something truly authentic. No one knows your vision, passions, and goals better than you do. Blend the wisdom you've gained from others with your unique perspective to craft something extraordinary and genuine.

Remember, you're the driving force behind your creations, and investing in yourself is the best investment you can make. So, learn from the best, but trust yourself to steer the course and manifest something that reflects your true essence. It's the recipe for remarkable achievements and a fulfilling life journey!
